Here is Beck doing the best wierd but enjoyable song ever created. This is the only song I have heard by Beck, and I don’t really hold him very high on my favorite people list but it still saddens me to know that he is a scientologist. I don’t understand scientology. It just makes no sense to me and after watching Tom Cruise, I don’t think I want it to make sense.

I had never even heard any Ol’ Dirty Bastard until about a month and a half ago. He is easily the funniest rappers ever. Everytime I put on one of his songs there is always a part that makes me smile and usually laugh. My favorite song is probably either this one or Goin Down. Goin Down makes me laugh my ass off no matter how many times I listen to it. Drunk Game is really funny too. He was an extremely talented rapper who definantly enjoyed what he did. R.I.P Ol’ Dirty Bastard.
I found this video just skimming through youtube and thought it was pretty cool. It is Kanye West on Def Jam Poetry singing his song “Bittersweet Poetry” in acapella/poetic form. He also does his own little poem at the beginning which was pretty funny. ”Bittersweet Poetry” is on Kanye’s new album “Graduation”, which is awesome in my opinion. My favorite album of his. I like all of the songs except “Drunk & Hot Girls” and “Barry Bonds”. I’m not a big fan of “Flashing Lights” either but I can stand it more than the other two. The rest of the songs are Kanye at his finest.

My video pick of the week goes to Kool & The Gang’s hit “Jungle Boogie” for two reasons: it is the greatest funk song ever created and because we are doing a project with it for school. What my friends and I are doing is we are going to lip sinc to the music while dancing and then take that video and put the actual song over it. In other words, we are doing a milli vanilli. Now, are music video will be nothing like that because we don’t have instruments or people. We are doing it with just three guys and ours is supposed to make you laugh…just a warning. Don’t take it seriously because that would be nearly impossible. Anyway I’ll have ours posted on here when we get it edited, burned, and all that good stuff. For now, just enjoy the actual, awesome Kool & The Gang.
There is actually a reason why I picked this as my video pick beyond the fact that he is the greatest dancer of all time. It is spirit week at my highschool and my friend got the bright idea to dress up like michael (I know, what the fuck was I thinking?). As you probably assumed all ready, we did get called gay. It sucks that people don’t appreciate how much of an entertainer he was. I mean yes, he is fucked up but he is still a good singer/dancer. We wore all the stuff he wore in this video, except I didn’t have a belt or jacket. Plus all our shit was a cheap impression. Hell, we couldn’t even find two black fedoras so we spray painted some gray ones lol. I would have shown the actual music video but this is the one we dressed up as. The actual music video is better because it is old michael. It just isn’t the same. You watch/listen to his old stuff and you enjoy it. After he turned white and creepy though, it just doesn’t do it for you. Oh well, whether he is creepy or not, he is the best dancer ever.

All I did today was listen to music, with the exception of going to church and my cousin’s. I have about 2,140 songs in my library. I mainly listened to Jurassic 5, Alicia Keys, D’Angelo, and Justin Timberlake. Jurassic 5 is some good shit. They have, or I should say had because they broke up, such an awesome flow. It sucks that they broke up because they sound so well together. Alicia Keys can fuckin sing like no other. I used to not like Justin Timberlake because he used to be from N’Sync or was it Backstreet Boys? Anyways I never gave him a chance until my cousin wouldn’t shut up about his awesomness. I decided to try him out for two reasons. 1. Because I hated and still do hate it when people won’t give Prince a chance because they think he is gay and I thought it was hipocritical to not give JT a chance for the same reason. 2. Because my cousin wouldn’t leave me alone. Well I gave him a chance and was shocked at how good he is. “All Over Again” is some really good shit.
I’m 15 years old so it is a miracle that I don’t like today’s hip-hop. I was fortunate enough to have a cousin to show me what good music is. Even though I don’t like today’s hip-hop, I am constantly having to listen to it because people are so closed minded nowadays that they can’t even decide what music they like. They just follow the crowd like mindless drones. One person says that a song is good so then, all of a sudden, it is number one on the charts. I can understand if the music is actually good but these songs are flat out annoying. They are all about the same thing: how many bitches you got, how much money you got, and how fly you look all pimped out. There isn’t any more good material or subtance in music today. What happened to using hip-hop as a way to get people to notice the problems that are going on in life? I’m not saying that all music has to be political but atleast make the music have a point. For example; the song Ay Bay Bay. What point does this song get across? The whole song is about a pick up line and a shitty one at that. What is even worse is when an artist comes out with the dreaded remix. All they do then is play the same song but yell “REMIX!” loudly through the whole thing. How hard is it to atleast use somewhat proper english? I don’t have a problem with slang but this is just ridiculous. Why is it so hard for people to be open minded, instead of just doing what other people are doing, and actually listen to the nonsense these rap artists are saying. That is exactly what it is, pure nonsense.
