New Stuff!

Yesterday I got my Noreve case for my Archos 604 Wifi and it is cool as all hell. It is 5 million billion trillion times better than the case the media player comes with. You couldn’t even see the screen if you used the original case. With my new one it has an open slot for the screen, every button, and for all the ports. I like it a lot. I also made a deal with my cousin that goes as follows: I was going to buy The Man Who Never Missed (greatest book ever) off eBay but if I did that then I wouldn’t have enough for my case, so he suggested he buy The Man Who Never Missed and I get his old copy. That worked for me. As long as I got a copy, I was happy. So now I have the greatest book ever and a cool ass case for my media player. New stuff is awesome.

Bagman

This is the sequal to Jay MacLarty’s “The Courier”. Both books are fantastic but “Bagman” is just a little better than “The Courier” in my opinion. MacLarty did an awesome job creating the character Simon Leonidivich. He is a character that everyone can understand. He did a good job making him 3 dimensional. What I mean, is that through the book he is experiencing, not so important, personal problems along with the, a lot more important, main problem.  In fact, all the characters in “Bagman” were well written and had very real personalities. That is the reason I like it better than “The Courier”. The story was very suspensful but just so much that he didn’t over-do it. I also like that the sequal wasn’t exactly like the first one. Too many authors make the sequal pretty much the same book as the first. ”Bagman” had a completely different story and a bunch of new characters. All in all the book is a good read if you like suspense stories.

The Silver Chair

The 6th book in the Narnia Series, The Silver Chair, was a very good read. The story is basically two kids, Euastace and Jill, are sent to Narnia to find Prince Rilian, the son of King Caspian, who has went missing. Narnia is the best fantasy world ever. C.S. Lewis has a hell of an imagination. Puddleglum was a very likeable character. He had me smiling through the whole book. I liked the book a lot but it still is only my second favorite of the series so far, I still have The Last Battle to read. The Magician’s Nephew is my least favorite just because it is mostly setting up the story for Narnia. My favorite book is a tie between The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe and Prince Caspian. Even though The Silver Chair is only my second favorite it is still a very good book.

I Am Legend (The Book)

I just finished reading the book and it was amazing. I enjoyed every word of it. The way it was written really made you get inside the main character’s, (Robert Neville), mind. You feel like you are actually experiencing what he is experiencing. Through the whole book you are racking your mind, along with Robert Neville, on a theory that fits vampirism. It was an awesome book that I enjoyed completely. I can already tell that the movie is going to suck without watching it. First off, Will Smith is not the character the book describes. In the book Robert is a chronic smoker and drinker through most of it, and I just can’t picture Will Smith downing some liquer while puffin’ on a cancer stick lol. I understand he is good actor, and from what I have heard he made the movie as good as it is, but if it isn’t honest to the book I don’t give a shit. Second, in the trailer the dog was running on a damn treadmill. In the book there is no treadmill and the dog isn’t his bestest companion. A week later, after they finally showed some companionship, the dog died. Third, I heard that the woman he meets in the movie (Ruth, or atleast that was her name in the book) isn’t even a vampire. That just ruins the story all together. It just crushes the most perfect ending for the story. It urks me that Hollywood can’t just be honest to other people’s works. They just have to put their own twist on it. If you can’t make the movie to be honest with the book then maybe it isn’t for the big screen, or maybe you just aren’t the right person for the job. Anyways the book is awesome, and if you like the movie I assume you haven’t read the book.
